Our commitment to sustainability, people and ethical business
Our first Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) report is now available. It outlines how we take responsibility for our environmental impact, support our people and operate with integrity and transparency.
ESG Report Overview
Our sustainability work is built around three core pillars: protecting natural resources, reducing environmental footprints and supporting ethical business practices. Through partnerships with suppliers and customers, we promote soil health, preserve biodiversity and conserve water to support sustainable food production for the long term.
A summary of the ESG Report’s key points is provided below. The complete report is also available for download.
Supporting a Greener Future
From responsible sourcing and reducing food miles to promoting regenerative agriculture, we prioritise sustainable practices across our operations, ensuring we play our part in advancing environmentally-conscious food manufacturing.
We use the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to guide our ESG priorities. We concentrate on the nine goals most relevant to our business, highlighting where we can make the greatest impact. The full report provides more detail on each goal and our related initiatives.
Climate and Environment
We are pursuing a net zero carbon strategy, focusing on actual reductions in emissions rather than relying on offsets, ensuring our operations become carbon zero rather than simply carbon neutral.
- Operational emissions (Scope 1 and 2) are on track to reach net zero by 2040.
- Scope 3 emissions from our supply chain and transport are targeted for net zero by 2050.
- We focus on real reductions, working closely with our grower partners, particularly for key ingredients like mustard and mint, which make up the largest share of our footprint.
- We use green electricity and explore low-carbon fuels such as bio-propane and HVO, alongside regenerative agriculture practices.
Emissions are measured using the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol across three scopes: Scope 1 covers our operations and vehicles, Scope 2 the energy we purchase and Scope 3 our supply chain.
Ethical Governance
Condimentum scores 4.3 out of 5 in SEDEX ESG assessments, achieving advanced ratings in 13 of 14 categories.
SEDEX provides an independent evaluation of a company’s environmental, social and governance performance, covering areas such as labour standards, workplace safety and ethical practices. We integrate these standards across all areas of our business to ensure responsible and transparent practices.

People and Culture
Condimentum has been officially named one of the best employers in the UK's Eastern region, reflecting our commitment to wellbeing, personal development and an inclusive workplace.
All staff, including harvest workers, take part in induction programmes with group and on-the-job training. We encourage team input on a wide range of activities, from branding to taste panels, and promote social interaction through a welfare hub and fun events outside work. Employees also benefit from regular training, personal development opportunities and schemes such as Cycle to Work.
In 2024, the team’s dedication and the company’s positive culture were recognised when Condimentum won the Food and Drink Producer of the Year award at the Broadland & South Norfolk Business Awards.
Community
We're committed to supporting local charities and community initiatives. Our team takes part in Business Fives, a nationwide series of corporate charity football events. These five-a-side matches bring together professionals from all sectors and abilities, offering a fun way to build team connections while raising funds for good causes.
We also support the Pure Quiz event, which helps local charities including Leeway, a charity for those affected by domestic violence and abuse. In recent years, our participation in these events has contributed over £6,000 to local causes, making a tangible difference in our community.
Innovation and Partnerships
We work closely with growers and food manufacturing partners to create solutions that are both high-quality and sustainable, helping to reduce environmental impact across the supply chain. Our focus on innovation drives efficiency, lowers emissions, improves product functionality and enhances workplace safety.
Strong partnerships support ethical sourcing and transparent reporting, helping us and our partners meet high standards for sustainability and governance. Certifications such as BRC AA and HACCP further reflect our commitment to quality and safety.
